Cape Town City got their second league win of the season when they beat Bloemfontein Celtic 4-2 in a DStv Premiership clash at the Cape Town stadium on Sunday.
Mduduzi Mdantsane opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute with a good finish from close-range.
Fagrie Lakay doubled the home team's advantage six minutes after 38 minutes when he scored from the penalty spot after the forward was fouled in the box.
Celtic though pulled a goal back, also from the penalty spot, as forward Ndumiso Mabena converted from 12 yards out after a foul was committed by Taariq Fielies.
The Citizens restored their two-goal lead in first-half stoppage time when Thabo Nodada hit a brilliant long-range effort that found the back of the net.
The tempo of the game slowed down considerably after the interval as both teams felt the effects of the recent two-week break.
Phunya Sele Sele reduced the deficit for a second time in the 68th minute when Menzi Masuku fired past Peter Leeuwenburgh in the City goal.
The visitors' hopes of a comeback were dashed though as Nodada scored his brace and killed off the game with 12 minutes remaining.
