Temperatures are expected to be hot across the country, while rain is expected in the east on Tuesday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and northern parts of the Northern Cape, says the South African Weather Service.

Temperatures along the coast are expected to be warm to hot.

Gauteng will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms from afternoon except in the south-west. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.

Morning fog patches are expected along the escarpment of Mpumalanga. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north. It will be hot in the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers and showers but scattered in the central and western interior.

It will be fine and warm to hot on the North West, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thundershowers in the extreme east.

The Free State will be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon, but hot in the north-west. Isolated thundershowers are expected in the extreme north-east.

Partly cloudy and cool conditions are expected along the coast of the Northern Cape. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot but very hot in places over the northern and central interior. It will become partly cloudy in the extreme north-east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

It will be hot in places over the interior of the Western Cape. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy to cloudy and warm with morning fog patches along the west and south coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly but south-easterly along the south coast at first. The expected UVB sunburn index will be very high.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy south of the escarpment. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot. It will become cloudy from the southeast in the evening. Isolated thunderstorms are expected over the northern interior. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly freshening in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers except in places along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.
