In 1991, on the 11th of February, South Africa celebrated an immense moment of change as Nelson Mandela walked free from prison, then on the 25th of June 1995, the Springboks defeated the All Blacks and South Africa became the winners of the rugby world cup. These two events were indicative of the country’s potential, especially when set against the pessimism of the public and the global community at large.
